This unusual and magnificent structure is located in the north-east of Bukhara. The name Chor-Minor Madrasah is translated as “four minarets”, which, in turn, symbolize the four cardinal points.
The purpose of the construction of this mosque was to attract travelers, so that they would stay here while traveling along the Great Silk Road. There is also a belief that KhalifaNiyazkul-bek, the initiator of the construction, wanted to recreate something similar to the TajMahal in Bukhara.
