Friday mosque Kalyan is one of the oldest mosques located in Bukhara. It was the center of public and religious life of the Bukhara people. But this was not always the case. The mosquenear the citadel, built shortly after the establishment of Islam, was unlucky. It was repeatedly transferred from one place to another, and the roof collapsed several times in it, taking the lives of worshipers. And only after being newly built during the reign of the Karakhanids near the Kalyan minaret and adopting the same name, the mosque finally found a place, as if intended by God.
